Have you registered for classes this semester? If so, for many of you, your payment is due. Whether you plan to pay in full or are using one of our payment plan options, the important thing is that no matter what, you have a payment or payment arrangements completed by your tuition deadline - or else you'll run the risk of being dropped from your classes.
Check out our list below to see why making your payment now is important.
1. If you don't make your payment by your due date, you may lose your classes...
This is something to think about, especially if you registered for popular classes that filled up fast. The moment you miss your payment deadline, your spot in the classes you didn't pay for could open up. This means other people can register and pay for those classes (starting on May 10 at noon), therefore, leaving you without them - you'll officially be unregistered.
This doesn't always happen - for example, let's say you waited until two days past the deadline to pay. If nobody registered for your classes within that time span, then you can re-enroll and make immediate payment with no harm done. But... do you really want to take that risk?
2. ...and you may not get to graduate on time.
Losing your classes due to your non-payment may mean you won't be able to graduate on time. This is because you may have to attend an extra semester in order to make up for the classes you missed.
3. You can see where you stand financially and plan accordingly for next time.
We get it - paying for college can be stressful. If you have any questions about your financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (815) 280-2528.
The earlier you enroll in a payment plan, the more months you have to pay for your charges. Be sure to apply for Financial Aid and scholarships early. Visit jjc.edu/financial-aid or jjc.edu/scholarships.
4. By paying now, you can get your questions answered without the stress of missing the deadline.
Ultimately, JJC staff is here to help you. If you have any questions about your payment or payment plan, you can ask the Student Accounts and Payments Office. Visit jjc.edu/student-resources/student-account-payments, call (815) 280-6688 or visit A-1020 (Main Campus, Enrollment Center).
5. Your mind will be at ease.
Once you've made your payment, you can start focusing on your final exams and then relax during winter break.
