Thanksgiving is right around the corner (how did that happen?!), and a lot of our students are reflecting on the things they are most grateful for this holiday season. And why not be thankful for the things that we have? Studies have shown that gratitude improves happiness.
Are any of the things you're most thankful for the same as what our students have mentioned below?
Keisha Rodey, Nursing
"I'm most thankful for my friends and family because they've always been there for me through the good times and the bad times."
Sebastian Escudero, Applied Science
"I'm most thankful for my family and friends, and my bosses for giving me the opportunity to get to where I am in my culinary life. They have given me opportunities that I never would have fathomed. I am also thankful for the values my parents have taught me - be kind to others, never judge anyone. I'm thankful for my whole family altogether because without them, I wouldn't be where I am today."
Ciara Mayes, Nursing
"I'm thankful for my mom and sister because they're always there for me."
Kianna Campbell, Criminology
"I'm thankful for my family because they motivate me every day. And (as a member of the women's basketball team) I am also thankful for basketball."
Alberto Gomez, Undecided
"Friends and family, because I have awesome friends and family. They're always around to support me."
Sydney Rak, Undecided
"The good people in my life, the positive people."
Savanna Clark, Applied Science
"My family, because they're the ones that are there for me. I'm also thankful for the opportunity to work at Dream Dental."
Arianna Garcia, Art Education
"I'm most thankful for our freedom to think and be creative in America. And my family too."
Aaron Seidler, Education
"I'm thankful for this culture because it has given me a lot of opportunities. It's taught me a variety of different things. We have the freedom to study whatever we want, we can go to the library and search for whatever we want, we can follow our own religion. I'm also thankful for my parents."
Samantha Arellano, Science
"I'm most thankful for financial aid getting me through college. And my parents because they feed me and support me."
Sydney Strohl, Nursing
"I'm most thankful for my family, my boyfriend and my animals. I have a dog, a leopard gecko, a snake and a bearded dragon."
Casey Bielanski, Graphic Design
"I'm most thankful for my girlfriend, my family, and my pets, which include a labrador retriever, a border collie and then two geckos as well. I'm also very thankful for music - especially electronic music."
Sydney Mitchell, Physical Therapy
"Definitely my friends and family because they're always there for me and they support me emotionally."
Taylor Stang, Nursing
"My family because they do everything for me and I don't know what I would do without them."
