1. Horror and Gore Make-up (LLC 5324)

Sign up for this fun make-up workshop to learn techniques just in time for the Halloween season. This hands-on workshop will cover how to use a range of mediums to create cuts, blisters, open scabs, burns and gashes with liquid latex (a substitute can be provided for those with latex allergy). Open to ages 18 and up. All supplies provided.

4. Secrets of Great Video (LLC 5707)

This comprehensive, hands-on workshop will guide students through the process of creating videos with impact. Each week will cover a different topic: developing a storyline, composition, format, lensing, using attachments, stabilization, lighting adding music and editing. Whether you are using a cell phone, digital camera or video camera, students will be able to practice and apply skills in this creative course.

6. Design Your Own Pop-up Christmas Card (LLC 5665)

Send your friends and family an original pop-up holiday card this year! This course will show you how to combine family photos and other visuals with basic paper engineering and design principles so you can create a custom card that will pop with excitement and be remembered forever. No drawing skills are necessary.

9. Hidden History: The Apollo Program and John Houbolt (LLC 5705)

Tuesday, Nov. 19
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the first man on the moon and learn about John Houbolt, a NASA aerospace engineer who grew up in Joliet. Houbolt is credited with leading the team behind the lunar orbit rendezvous mission mode, a concept that was used to successfully land humans on the Moon and return them to Earth.
